POLICE are appealing for information following a housebreaking in Elgin last Thursday.

During the theft from the house on Hamilton Drive, which occurred between 12.25pm and 1.15pm, police say jewellery, money and a silver gents mountain bike were taken.

The bike had a child’s red seat attachment on the back. The total value, according to officers, amounts to a low four-figure sum.

Police are eager to trace a young male who was seen leaving the area at the time, possibly on the stolen bike. He is described as being in his late teens and wearing casual clothing.

Anyone with information should phone Grampian Police on 0845 600 5700 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 1111 if wishing to remain anonymous.
