Bride-to-be Ruth Dixon will exchange vows with her groom, Darren Smith, in their unique seaside wedding at Covesea Lighthouse, Lossiemouth. The couple, who live in Lancaster, fell in love with the local area in the course of numerous visits to Ruth's mum, Sue, who moved to the coast town 10 years ago. They decided to hold their wedding in Scotland, and stumbled across the idea of staging the ceremony at the lighthouse entirely by accident. Ruth (28) said: "We were looking on the Internet for places where we could get married, and I discovered that you could stay in the keepers' cottages at the lighthouse. "We decided to ask the National Trust for Scotland if it would be possible to get married at the lighthouse, and we were absolutely delighted when they agreed. "I have been coming up two or three times a year since mum moved here, and I have fallen in love with the West Beach. "We couldn't have asked for a better venue, and it's really nice that we are making a little bit of history by getting married there." |
