The Moray side - currently bottom of the league by 12 points and without a manager - had to field several local youngsters in their team but still managed to surprise their Fife visitors. Cowdenbeath broke the deadlock on the hour with a close range strike from Graeme Brown, but Elgin fought back to equalise through striker Kenny Wright on 75 minutes. The visitors had a chance to grab all three points when they were awarded a penalty in the final minute but John Dempster blazed his kick high over the crossbar to the relief of the Elgin support. Elgin travel to play Forfar Athletic next Saturday, and could have their new manager in place with chairman Graham Tatters revealing he is ready to interview candidates this week. Related articles: |
