More than 200 people gathered to enjoy a night of cutting-edge style in the first event of its kind staged by the team from KAM Hair and Body Spa in Lossiemouth.

Led by owner Karen Thomson, they put on a night to remember at the Mansefield Hotel in Elgin, where the audience was treated to a stunning show of the artistic team's wide range of skills.

The first part of the event saw this season's key trends created on stage and modelled along with the latest fashions from Lisa@149 in Keith. A second section featured evening styles which were modelled with dresses from Avorio in Fochabers for the ladies and Highland wear from Chuck McCall in Elgin for the men.

Rounding off the evening, the artistic team staged a special demonstration in which they went up against the clock to create their own avant-garde looks in under 10 minutes.

Dancers from the Ecosse Performers College in Lossiemouth gave demonstrations throughout the show, as well as modelling looks created by the KAM team.

£2,000 was raised for local charities with displays of head-turning fashions, make-up and hairstyles.

Mrs Thomson was delighted by the success of the event, and that so much was raised through the raffle and charity auction, as well as ticket sales. The money is being donated to the Ladybird Development Group in Lossiemouth and the Elgin branch of Alzheimer's Scotland.

"I am overwhelmed by the support we have had from local businesses, clients, friends and family. The evening was amazing, and we are delighted to have raised so much money for our chosen charities," Mrs Thomson said.

"The event has exceeded all of our expectations. Everyone involved worked extremely hard to pull the show together. Based on the success of this year's event, we will look at creating something bigger next year, allowing us to accommodate more people and hopefully raise more money for local charities."
