MEMORIES of the "good old days" will be revived for former school friends and football-mad team-mates at a reunion next weekend.

A trio of buddies who grew up together in New Elgin are set to reunite the "loons" from the 1945 to 1955 era. Gordon Shanks and Mike Ellis - known as Tommy - who both still live in Elgin, along with Mike Mulholland, who has moved to Lossiemouth, had been talking about organising a reunion for some time before, spurred on by their families, they finally got round to organising the reunion, which is scheduled to take place next Saturday, March 20, at New Elgin Hall. They have managed to get in touch with a number of people who attended New Elgin Primary School, hung around at the Doocot Park or became part of the crowd at the Caberfeidh pub. They now need to confirm numbers of those attending in order to finalise catering arrangements. People can get in touch by e-mailing Mr Mulholland at gmmulholland@aol.com, or calling Mr Ellis on 07955 260228 or Mr Shanks on 01343 549425. |
