MORAY Council are seeking public feedback on their Community Learning and Development activities in order to help shape future plans.

Anyone who takes part in activities that improves group or individual learning or enables positive change in communities is involved in Community Learning and Development (CLD).

While it is thought that many people don’t consider themselves a participant in community learning, taking part in activities, groups and events that help wellbeing and connects people with their community is included under the CLD umbrella.

Moray Council and their community partners are gathering information to inform their new three-year CLD plan, due for publication in September 2024. The plan will give Moray-wide direction to anyone involved in CLD in the region, from individual learners to organisations delivering community activities.

There are two distinct and specific questionnaires open until June 8 2024, one for community groups and organisations to complete and one for individual learners and participants.

Moray Council leader Councillor Kathleen Robertson, is encouraging feedback to inform the plan.

She said: “Many people don’t consider themselves as part of a community learning and development project, activity or organisation but so many people are participating and benefiting from events that contribute to Moray’s CLD.

“If you have ideas for what could be offered or feedback on activities already on the go we really want to hear from you. This new plan must reflect the thoughts of our communities and the only way it can do that is if as many people as possible get involved now.”
