MAJOR building works to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) building in Elgin will see restricted public access for up to five weeks.

The works will start this Monday, September 26.

The roof of the SEPA building on Perimeter Road is to be replaced.

While SEPA staff will still be able to access the building, access for the public will be severely restricted and they are asked to contact the Elgin office either by phone on 01343 547663 or via SEPA’s 24 hour call centre on 0800 80 70 60 if anyone has serious pollution concerns.

David McCallum, SEPA’s Head of Facilities, said: “We recognise the important role our estate plays in supporting delivery of a modern, high quality environmental protection service and we are committed to reducing the environmental footprint of our own operations.

"Replacing the roof of our Elgin office should allow us to increase the energy efficiency of the building, and reduce its carbon footprint.”
