THE true face of caring in Moray is set to be revealed next week.

National Carers Week from June 13-19 will see a series of events hosted by The Carers Service Provider Network (Moray).

“Unpaid carers play a crucial role in our community and are recognised as our single biggest care provider,” said Pauline Knox, Carers Strategy and Development Officer for the Moray Council and the Lead Officer for the Carers Service Provider Network (Moray) (CSPN).

The CSPN is made up of Quarriers Carer Support Service (Moray), NHS, The Moray Carers Project, Crossroads Caring Scotland Moray and The Moray Council.

“We all work together to ensure better services and better outcomes for the unpaid carers in Moray. We work alongside the unpaid carers to provide the support that they need in appropriate ways and at appropriate times. Carers have told us that their roles may change and that sometimes their lives are extremely difficult, but at others the rewards and satisfaction far outweighs the challenges they face.”

The CSPN have taken up the challenge to be more responsive to the varying needs of the unpaid carers in Moray and to deliver a variety of services that provides the right amount of support regardless of where that person is on their fluid and changing journey that is the ‘true face of caring’.

If you are an unpaid carer, you know of someone who is or if you would just like to find out more then please come along to one of the events.

Alternatively you can contact any one of the CSPN member organisations named above or you can speak to Pauline Knox on 01343 567186 or by email on pauline.knox@moray.gov.uk
