Van fire on Elgin's Oldmills Road

Witnesses are being sort after the emergency services had to deal with a van on fire on Oldmills Road in Elgin this morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Along with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, we attended a report of a van on fire in the early hours of this morning.

"We are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and ask anyone who may have witnessed anything to contact police on 101, quoting incident 294 of 14 February."

The van was parked beside Old Mill, the historic building which was badly damaged by a fire which began at about 3.30am last Monday.

An investigation into that blaze was conducted by the fire service while Oldmills Road was closed off to through traffic for three days.
