Cup holders Forres through to next round

FORRES Mechanics are through to the next round of the AJG Parcels North Cup after beating Fort William 4-3.

However, a double from Lee Fraser and another from Gary Tweedie put them 3-1 up by half-time.

Scott Moore added a fourth early in the second half to put the Mechanics in a comfortable position.

Fort William mounted a late charge when David Forbes pulled one back with ten minutes to go.

And when Sean Ellis made it 4-3 late on there was some tension in teh Forres camp.

However, the visitors held out to secure the win and a second round tie against either Lossiemouth or Rothes, who play tonight (Wednesday) at Grant Park.

There was a shock as last season's beaten finalists Wick Academy were humbled 2-1 at home to Halkirk.

Golspie also play Clach tonight.
