ELGIN City's 'reward' for putting holders Ross County out of the Ramsdens Cup was an away tie at East Fife in the next round.

Ross Jack's side, who dumped County 2-1 last Saturday at Dingwall, must now face the second division side at New Methil on August 9.

City now face two trips to Fife in the space of 10 days as they visit East Fife this Saturday in the Scottish Communities League Cup.

Elgin fans will be disappointed at being handed such a tough away tie after their side's heroics at Victoria Park.

East Fife were convincing 6-1 winners at third division Montrose on Saturday in the first round of the competition. The second round draw is:

  • Hamilton Academical v Partick Thistle
  • Falkirk v Dundee
  • East Fife v Elgin City
  • Livingston v Stirling Albion
  • Annan Athletic v Peterhead
  • Forfar Athletic v Morton
  • Dumbarton v Berwick Rangers
  • Ayr United v Raith Rovers
