Jags Ramsdens penalty kick agony

BUCKIE Thistle came close to upsetting second division hosts Forfar Athletic in the Ramsdens Challenge Cup.

The Highland League Champions crashed out of the competition 5-4 on penalties at Station Park.

The Jags, invited to take part in the competition alongside Deveronvale, gave as good as they got during the match.

Graham Gibson had put the Angus side ahead after 28 minutes.

However, within five minutes Craig MacMillan had levelled for the visitors.

Goalkeeper Kevin Main produced some good saves to deny the home side.

And when 30 minutes of extra-time failed to separate the sides it went down to penalty kicks.

Forfar led 5-4 when Lewis Mackinnon's final kick of the regulation five was saved by home keeper Greg Paterson.

Deveronvale went down 3-1at home to Stirling Albion.
