A GIANT singalong is taking place in Moray on Saturday (February 22).
The Chatterbox Challenge with Sounds and Symbols will take place at the Playbarn, Lhanbryde from 3-5pm.
The singalong will last for 30 minutes followed by normal entry to the play area. Half the entry fee will be donated to the I CAN charity to help children with communication difficulties.
Local musical play specialist Maria Kay is behind the singalong.
“Musical activities stimulate both sides of the brain and help children to develop co-ordination, listening and vocalising skills,” she said.
“Even small babies benefit from being involved in these activities, observing others, bonding with their parents and learning about the world.
“They help children to learn about rhythm, pitch and rhyme – essential skills for later literacy. Singing and playing in a group engenders a feeling of belonging and promotes a sense of wellbeing.”
There are practices on Thursday and Friday mornings at the Playbarn at 10am.
Anybody who would like to learn some of the songs before Saturday can listen to this video.
Information is also posted regularly on the Sounds and Symbols Facebook page.
