POLICE have spoken to a seven-year-old boy following a number of alleged acts of vandalism at Elgin Cemetery.
Amongst the graves vandalised was that of 10-year-old Jayden Ravello who died in October 2016.
That incident happened just hours after Jayden’s family donated equipment to Dr Gray’s Hospital in his memory.
Police said that the seven-year-old will not be charged as he is beneath the age of criminal responsibility, which is eight.
A spokesman said: "Police Scotland can confirm that a seven-year-old boy has been identified as having been involved and, in the presence of his family, was spoken to regarding his behaviour and actions. "
Investigating Officer PC Michelle MacDonald added: "I know these incidents have caused a lot of strong feelings within the local community and would like to thank all those again who have provided information for their help and support."
