A HIGH Street bank in Elgin had to be evacuated after a small fire.
Fire crews raced to the Clydesdale Bank in the centre of the town just before 1pm on Friday.
Staff had safely evacuated the building before firefighters dealt with the fire.
A spokesman for the Clydesdale Bank said: "We can confirm that there was a small fire at the branch, with no serious damage or injuries.
"The branch is currently closed while repairs are made, we should like to apologise for any inconvenience in the meantime."
At one point there were three fire appliances in the centre of Elgin at lunchtime following a fire alarm at the Thorntons store, however, that turned out to be a false alarm.
