Elgin man accused of attempted murder appears in court again

THE man accused of trying to murder a woman in Elgin has again been remanded in custody.

 

John Craig appeared in Elgin Sheriff Court on Friday, but gave no plea.

The 55-year-old is charged with assault to severe injury, permanent impairment, danger to life and attempted murder.            

Friday was the second time he has appeared in court. The date of his next appearance had yet to be confirmed.

The 44-year-old woman was left with a serious head injury following the alleged attack which happened in an alleyway off Woodside Terrace, just yards from her home.

She is still receiving treatment at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after being discovered unconscious in the early hours of Thursday morning, October 26.
