Elgin man charged with spate of thefts

police gaelic scotland alba A 30-year-old man from Elgin has been charged with seven alleged thefts from businesses across Aberdeenshire and Moray at the weekend.

Three incidents were reported in Elgin, three in Huntly and one in Lossiemouth.

Two car dealerships were amongst the companies targeted, with a couple of a couple of vehicles stolen from one. These have since been recovered.

Four separate service stations were also hit, as was a hair salon from which cash and a number of electrical items were stolen.

The man is expected to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court today.

Detective Sergeant Bruce Buntain said: "Thank you to those who assisted with our extensive enquiries into these incidents."
