Elgin man dies after A96 collision

New Police Scotland logoA PEDESTRIAN hit by a lorry in Elgin on Saturday has died.

Gerard Campbell was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital following the incident on West Road, part of the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness trunk road which runs through the town, at around 12.35pm.

The 54-year-old, who was from Elgin, was transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary but died from his injuries yesterday.

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland.

Sergeant Colin Matheson said: "Our thoughts are obviously with family and friends of Mr Campbell at this very sad time.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone with information, or anyone who was at the scene at the time and has not yet spoken to the Police, to get in touch by calling 101."
