Elgin woman found in street with head injuries

POLICE are appealing for help after a 44-year woman was found in Elgin during the early hours of today with a head injury.

The woman has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where she is currently receiving treatment, having been discovered in Woodside Terrace, which is off Newill Road.

Detective Inspector Norman Stevenson said: "The woman was found in the street with injuries to her head.

"We have been unable to speak to her to establish how she came to be injured and are appealing to anyone to get in touch who may have information that could assist us.

"We were called shortly after 5am and she may have been seen in the area around this time or shortly before.

"She has fair hair and is of average build. She was wearing a light coloured jacket, blue jeans, brown boots and had a black handbag with her."
