MORAY Council are appealing for information after the floodlights worth £4000 on Landshut Bridge have been stolen.

The lights are specialist industrial LED lights and have been used to illuminate the bridge in different colours.

They were said to have been removed between March 15 and April 5, with each individual light costing £1000 each.

Also stolen from the bridge were the cables and a security chain was cut through to remove them.

Engineers investigating the crime have said that it is possible that the thieves may have suffered an electric shock when the cables were disconnected.

The theft is currently being investigated by Police Scotland.

Anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the lights, or have been offered them for purchase should contact Police Scotland on 101.
