JUNIOR pupils at Buckie High have been told to stay away today (Friday) after a student was found to have measles.

High-risk staff and pupils were sent home on Wednesday lunch-time after the diagnosis was confirmed by NHS Grampian.

On advice from the health authority, a number of staff were unable to attend yesterday and today and pupils in S2 have been told to stay at home. School is open as normal for pupils in S1 and S3 to S6. However, those contacted by NHS Grampian regarding an individual child should follow instructions and keep their child away.

Parents and carers are urged to check the information line for more information after 4pm.

Pupils have been issued with letters detailing the symptoms to look out for and what parents should do if they have any concerns about their child’s health. The Community Coffee Bar will be closed all day.
