Man charged with Elgin break-ins

police gaelic scotland alba A 34-year-old man has been charged in relation to several break-ins across Elgin during the last week.

 Property was taken from homes as well as commercial premises including power tools, a torch and a lawnmower.

The man is expected to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court today.

PC Rosanagh Davison, who led the enquiry, said: "We would like to thank members of the pubic for their assistance while these enquiries were carried out.

"We continue to urge residents to report any suspicious activity they see in their neighbourhood.

"We are also urging the public to ensure their homes, vehicles and any outbuildings are always locked and secure.

"Any valuables should be stored out of sight to prevent offering a temptation for opportunistic thieves.

"I would ask anyone with concerns or who is offered the items for sale that they have concerns as to where they have come from to contact us"
