Moray firm in running for industry title

Associated Seafoods twice smoked salmonA BUCKIE company has been shortlisted as a finalist for a prestigious industry award.

Associated Seafoods Ltd (ASL) has been selected in the Most Successful Product category of the North East Scotland Food and Drink Awards.

The nomination comes in recognition of the strong market performance of its M&S Twice Smoked Scottish Salmon.

Commercial director Neil Greig said: “We are delighted to have made the final at the North East Scotland Food and Drink Awards, which is recognition of the fantastic work by all the team at Associated Seafoods in producing the best quality Scottish Smoked Salmon.”

M&S Twice Smoked Scottish Salmon is produced using a smoking technique where the salmon is dry cured in salt and then twice smoked for flavour and texture.

Last year, the product won the M&S Food Group Innovation Award in recognition of the development work behind the product and its subsequent strong sales performance.

Winners in the North East Food and Drink Awards will be announced at a ceremony held at Ardoe House Hotel, Aberdeen, on March 22.
