Moray man's charity effort

A MORAY man is taking part in a 55-mile sponsored cycle to raise cash for a Highland renal unit.

Tim Hewkin, from Elgin is in a team of four cyclists pedalling from the Kessock Bridge in Inverness to Ullapool on Wednesday (June 4).

He will be joined with Forres and Nairn welfare football committee member Matthew Young, and fellow Nairn duo Susan Matheson and Sandy Mackay on the stamina-sapping challenge.

Susan organised the event in memory of her late father, Mervyn Evans, who had been treated at Raigmore Hospital’s renal unit.

Donations can be made online by visiting or there are sponsor forms at Sainsburys, Moshs Café and the Links Tearooms in Nairn.
