Most of Portknockie flood damage to be repaired

portknockieNEARLY £1,750,000 will be spent in Portknockie to make good some of the extensive landslip damage from last Autumn.

Heavy rains on September 13 caused parts of the seaside village’s cliffs to crumble and also washed large amounts of soil down its steep slopes.

In the aftermath, a firm of surveyors hired by Moray Council warned the only access road to Portknockie Harbour and six homes would have to close if the damage got any worse.
