Police plea following forest thefts

police gaelic scotland alba POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a spate of thefts from forestry sites in Moray.

More than £1000 of equipment and tools have been taken from areas near both Forres and Lhanbryde.

The thefts started at the end of January, with the latest taking place on Tuesday.

Inspector Graeme Allan said: "We are urging anyone who has noticed anything unusual or suspicious in the area to get in touch with us.

"We would also ask that anyone who is offered equipment or tools related to the forestry industry contacts us.

"We continue to urge operators in the area to be vigilant with regards to storage and security measures. If you notice anything suspicious or have any information please contact us on 101."
