vote voting pictureGordonstoun will host a Scottish Referendum Debate for the school’s 16-18 year old voters next Friday (September 12).

A group of 45 Elgin High students will join their Gordonstoun contemporaries.

Old Gordonstounian, Isabel Oakeshott, the outgoing Sunday Times political editor, will chair the debate.

Richard Lochhead MSP will represent the ‘Yes' campaign and Mary Scanlon MSP will represent the ‘Better Together' campaign.

Each campaign representative will put their case to the audience, followed by answering pre submitted questions.  The event will last one hour.

Simon Reid, Principal of Gordonstoun, said: ‘We are conscious of the very important decision that our 16-18 year olds will be making on September 18 , and as such, we are very excited to be hosting such a high profile panel.

"These are historic times and we hope that by giving our students access to as much information as possible, about the upcoming referendum, they will be able to make an informed decision on the day."
