WITNESSES are being sought following the theft of 90 lambs near Keith.
The Suffolk Cross lambs were stolen between 10pm on Saturday, September 9 and 3pm on Friday, September 22, in a field adjacent to Balnamoon Farm at Crossroads.
The livestock is valued at more than £1000.
Police have stated that whoever took the sheep would have required expertise, and would probably have used trained dogs.
A large vehicle, possibly twin-decked, would likely have been used to remove them from the field.
Inspector Neil Campbell said: "I would appeal to local farmers and those further afield to be extra vigilant with their livestock.
"I would also ask that anyone who may have seen some unusual activity in the area contacts the police immediately.
"Also, anyone who has recently been offered any Suffolk Cross lambs for sale should contact 101, using reference 0276660917, or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous."
