THE museum in Tomintoul opened this week following a complete £500,000 refit.

Now known as the Tomintoul and Glenlivet Discovery Centre, the refurbished attraction will include a digital archive for researching local history online.

The Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire, Clare Russell, was invited to officially open the centre, which also includes a refurbished flat.

The refit is one of the projects being carried out by the Tomintoul and Glenlivet Landscape Partnership, a £3.6million programme largely funded by the Heritage Lottery.
