TWO residents are now in temporary accommodation after a mechanical digger was driven into their homes.
The incident happened in Land Street, Buckie, during the early hours of Sunday morning.
A 30-year-old man has been arrested and is due to appear in Elgin Sheriff Court.
A Moray Council spokesman said: "The property damaged over the weekend contains four dwellings of supported accommodation and belongs to the ARK Housing Association.
"Two Moray Council tenants who resided there are now in temporary accommodation as a result of the damage. No-one was injured.
"ARK has contacted Moray Council to confirm that assessors and structural engineers are on site this afternoon to inspect the property.
"Apart from the care of our tenants, Moray Council’s role is that of public safety in case of further building collapse.
"The council is content at this stage that ARK staff are doing all that is required in this regard, and our only involvement is likely to be further into the process.
"This could be in an advisory capacity, for planning issues or when permits for temporary closure of part of the carriageway may be required."
