THE UK’s largest unionhas stated the SNP takeover of Moray Council is a positive move which should protect jobs.
Unison says it is pleased to hear that the recent vacuum in leadership in Moray Council would now appear to have been resolved. Tony Donaghey, communications officer for the union’s Moray branch, said: "Hopefully we will now see a spirit of positivity from the new administration who we hope share Unison’s vision of making Moray Council a well-respected and forward-thinking local authority.
"It will come as a relief to the many council workers and Moray residentsworried over their jobs and services.
"Moray Unison sincerely hopes that the new administration will work constructively with all stakeholders, including the trade unions, to provide strategic direction and improve and protect jobs and services in Moray, after what has been a torturous year for many employees."
