ELGIN City have signed midfielder Ryan Farquhar from Lossiemouth.

The 24-year-old, who can play in a wide or attacking central role, has penned a one-year deal for City subject to SFA clearance.

Farquhar had been placed on the transfer list by his hometown Lossie after rejecting a new contract midway through last season, but saw the campaign out at Grant Park.

He missed the closing games of the term due to an ankle ligament injury but will be fit for pre-season with City.

Farquhar spent five years at Lossiemouth and has a string of Highland League sides after him.

He took part in a trial match for Elgin towards the end of last term.

Farquhar is the second Moray-based signing City have made this week following the capture of Scott Miller from Turriff United.

See Friday's Northern Scot for full interview with Miller on his Elgin switch.
