Lossie dump Wick out of League Cup

LOSSIEMOUTH produced the shock of the day with a 2-0 win at Wick Academy in the Highland League Cup.

Cup joy for Stevie Dunn.

Stevie Dunn's side took the lead on 67 minutes through Elliot Winter.

Wick had Sam Mackay sent off three minutes from the end.

And Lossiemouth wrapped up the win on 90 minutes when Scott Dunn converted a penalty.

Lossie handed a debut to Shawn Scott, signed earlier this week from Deveronvale, who is back at Grant Park for the fourth time in his career.

Buckie Thistle progressed to the next round of the Breedon Aggregates-sponsored cup with a 4-2 win on penalties at home to Cove Rangers.

Darren Wood had levelled for Buckie in normal time to make the game 1-1.

And with no further goals in extra time, The Jags won through from spot kicks.

Rothes won the all Moray affair at Kynoch Park, knocking the holders Keith out 1-0 thanks to a late goal from sub Liam Forbes.

Forres Mechanics eased into the next round with a 4-1 win at Fort William.

Stuart Soane (2), Kyle Scott and Scott Lawrie were on target for the Cans at Claggan Park.

Huntly went through with a 3-2 win over Fraserburgh following 120 minutes of action.

Nairn County beat Turriff Utd 5-0, while Inverurie Locos beat Strathspey Thistle 4-0.

In the Highland League, leaders Brora Rangers were held to a goalless draw at Princess Royal Park. Colin Charlesworth missed a penalty for the home side, while Zander Sutherland was sent off for the visitors.

Formartine kept their slim title hopes alive with a 3-1 win at home to Clach.

The draw for the 2nd round (April 5) is:

Inverurie Locos v Nairn County; Brora Rangers/Clachnacuddin or Deveronvale v Rothes; Huntly v Lossiemouth; Forres Mechancs v Buckie Thistle.
