FORRES Harriers’ Anna MacFadyen starred in an Edinburgh cross country event attended by Olympic champ Sir Mo Farah.
MacFadyen (17) ran a brilliant race to finish third in the senior women’s national inter-district cross country race in the capital.
She was the best of nine under-20s who took part in the race, and finished as top north district entry.
Her time of 22.38 minutes over the 6k course was just 20 seconds behind the eventual winner, former Commonwealth Games international Morag MacLarty.
The rising Forres star produced her best performance yet, eclipsing even her victory in last year’s Scottish under-17 cross country championships and finishing third in the Home Counties international.
She will next lead the Scottish ladies in the Celtic Games Cross Country in Cardiff on Saturday, January 21.
