Hopeman BC committee member Paul Craib said the club was keen to raise the profile of junior bowling in the area.

“The aim of competition is give youngsters who are already playing a competitive competition in a junior/ adult format,” he said.

“(The event) will be promoting bowls as a competitive, active and energetic hobby for youngsters in an area where all local clubs are struggling with developing youth (which) is very important to preserve the longevity of clubs.”

Entry is now closed and play begins on Sunday at 10am.
