Dangleberries set to play Thurso

Written byWhat's On Caithness

Dangleberries - they're Scottish, don'tcherknow.

Rock/bagpipe wranglers The Dangleberries are coming to the Y-Not Bar in Thurso this Saturday (June 21).

A pipe rock band, The Dangleberries' rousing performances deliver a mixture of their own material, both songs and instrumentals in addition to well known and at times unexpected covers (Boney M’s Daddy Cool being a great example). Their own material is mainly rock influenced but naturally written to compliment and fuse with the sound of the bagpipes.

The band recently celebrated 10 years of gigging which has taken them from London to Wick with many music venue and festival appearances in-between.

Highlights include regular festival main stage performances at The Wickerman, Belladrum Tartan Hearts and Loopallu.

They'll be supported at the Thurso show by local musicians Sheppy and The Andy Williamson Band.

For an example of their music, we've provided their cover of I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas from 2011's Belladrum. Have a listen.
