383 cases of coronavirus confirmed in Moray, but no deaths in last week

A TOTAL of 383 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Moray within the last week, taking the area's total since the outbreak began to 5695.

This is an increase on the 317 cases confirmed in the area last week.

However, after four deaths were reported last week – there were none this week. The area's death toll since the outbreak began remains 53.

Of the 53 people to have died, 41 tested positive for Covid-19 and passed away within 28 days, while 12 had the virus mentioned on their death certificate.

In the last week, 725 negative tests for Covid-19 have been recorded in Moray.

NHS Grampian – which includes Moray, Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City – has now confirmed 49,955 cases of coronavirus since the outbreak began.

Moray neighbourhood update

All of Moray's 24 'neighbourhood areas' confirmed at least three cases of coronavirus between November and November 7.

Elgin was once again the worst-hit town in Moray, with a total of 90 cases.

In Buckie, 31 were confirmed, with 28 in Keith and Fife Keith and 24 in Lossiemouth.

A total of 20 cases were confirmed in Forres.

The other cases are as follows:

  • Heldon West, Fogwatt to Inchberry: 37
  • Lhanbryde, Urquhart, Pitgavney and seaward: 26
  • Burghead, Roseisle and Laich: 22
  • Rural Keith and Strathisla: 18
  • Cullen, Portknockie, Findochty, Drybridge and Berryhillock: 16
  • South Speyside and the Cabrach: 12
  • Findhorn, Kinloss and Pluscarden Valley: 11
  • Mosstodloch, Portgordon and seaward: 10
  • Rafford, Dallas, Dyke to Dava: seven
  • Fochabers, Aultmore, Clochan and Ordiquish: seven
  • North Speyside: six

As children aged between 12 and 16 have begun receiving jabs, they are now being included in data.

The amount of booster jabs administered has also been added to the data provided by Public Health Scotland.

The number of people aged 12 plus in Moray to have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine is 69,693. This accounts for 82.9 per cent of the eligible population.

The number to have received one dose is 76,794 – or 91.3 per cent of those eligible.

In total, 16,923 people aged 12 plus have received a booster/third jab. That's 20.1 per cent of the eligible population.
