Total of 57.3 per cent of Moray adults have received first Covid-19 jab

A TOTAL of 57.3 per cent of Moray's adult population has received a first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.

A first jab has been given 45,682 people with 6483 (8.1 per cent of the area's adults) now fully vaccinated.

This means 4926 first dose jabs have been administered in Moray in the last week, a slight decrease on the 5020 the week prior.

A total of 817 second dose jabs were given, down on the 2483 last week.

Moray's numbers remain ahead of the national average, with 54.2 per cent of adults (2,463,069 people) across the country having received their first jab and 7.8 per cent (354,756 people) having received both.

NHS Grampian reached a milestone this week with the health board having now vaccinated more than 50 per cent of adults, equating to more than a quarter of a million people.

The health board has given a first jab to 51.6 per cent of the adult population (250,202 people).

A total of 7.5 per cent of the health board's adult population (36,375 people) has been fully vaccinated.
