Commenting on the advertised posts, Scottish parliamentary candidate Tim Eagle said: "I have for a long time thought co-location job offers ensure that both major centres and small district general hospitals can access high-quality staff to ensure the future of hospital services, particularly where it has been difficult to recruit locally.

"Many of us here in Moray have long been concerned with the future of services at Dr Gray's, particularly maternity services which need to be restored as soon as possible.

"But I was also worried about the many other departments which our local communities rely on, the emergency department being one of them.

"We already have amazing staff working here but we want to ensure they are supported by NHS Grampian and feel a strong part of the wider NHS Grampian team."

Mr Eagle, who is standing for the Conservatives in Moray on May 6, added: "It is vitally important to me and to Moray that Dr Gray’s remains a fully accessible hospital with the range of essential services we all need.

"I hope this is the beginning of many other opportunities across a range of departments which will ensure Dr Gray’s is protected and enhanced for the future."
