Moray firm Johnston Carmichael relocates to new office in Elgin
A long-established Moray accountancy firm has relocated to a new state-of-the-art office.
Johnston Carmichael’s new purpose-built 7832 sq ft open plan office at Elgin Business Park has now opened, welcoming 110 team members.
It features electric vehicle charging points, solar panels and a “tech-enabled” design which allows the firm’s team to take a “digital-first” approach.
To coincide with the move, Scott Dunbar, who joined the firm in 2008, has been appointed Head of Elgin Office. He succeeds Craig MacPherson who held the position for 15 years.
Mr Dunbar said: “Being born and bred in Elgin and growing up with my family using and trusting Johnston Carmichael, I am honoured to now be appointed as Head of Office.
“I will continue to build on the solid foundations laid by Craig and the senior management team, leading the sustainable growth of the firm and helping to inspire the next generation of business advisers.
“As a forward-thinking business, our new Elgin office is a fantastic space for our people with a modern and tech-enabled design.
“By prioritising our people, we have fostered a great culture, where our team are proud to work.”
Over the years, Johnston Carmichael has grown the headcount of the Elgin team from the original two founding partners to now in excess of 100 people, becoming one of the largest offices in its network.
Four other team members have also been promoted.
This includes Callum Hughes and Karren Emmet to Audit Senior, Danny Fiske to Business Advisory Senior and Katie Hussain to Business Advisory Manager.
Lynne Walker, CEO at Johnston Carmichael, said: “As a firm, we are sharply focused on reducing our carbon footprint and setting best-in-class ESG standards.
“The move in Elgin has been designed to align with the needs of our business and people and will importantly help us reduce our impact on the planet with its energy-efficient features.”
