The driver of the other vehicle - which the man, who wishes to remain anonymous, described as a blue Peugeot - failed to stop at the scene.

He said: “My car was damaged at Lidl Car Park in Elgin. It was a hit and run.

“I am appealing for any dashcam footage which shows the offender driving their Blue Peugeot 207 arriving or leaving the Lidl Car Park.

“Or possibly someone on foot saw this happen.”

Police Scotland confirmed that the incident took place and said their enquiries are underway.

A spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a parked car having been struck by another vehicle, which failed to stop, within a car park in the Station Road area of Elgin.

“This occurred around 10.15am on Monday, August 26, 2024, and was reported to police on Wednesday, 28 August.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
