Two-car crash in Brodie leaves woman (82) with life-threatening injuries, with two men also taken to hospital

A TWO-CAR crash near Brodie has left an 82-year-old woman in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The collision, which happened on the A96 near the village at around 3pm on Monday, July 11, involved a red Citroen C1, travelling east, and a red Kia Soul, travelling west.
An 82-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Citroen, has been left with injuries that police have described as "life-threatening".
The 83-year-old man who was driving the Citroen has been left with serious injuries, while the 69-year-old man driving the Kia sustained minor injuries.
The two occupants of the Citroen are receiving treatment at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, where the Kia driver was also taken for checks.
Road policing officers are appealing for witnesses in the aftermath of the collision.
Road Policing Sergeant Alexander Bowser-Riley said: “Our enquiries into the collision are continuing and I would appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either of the two vehicles prior to the collision to speak to police.
“We are also looking to trace a number of people who stopped immediately after the collision and provided assistance to the occupants of both vehicles.
"They left prior to our arrival and I would ask them to get in touch quoting incident number 2039 of July 11.”
The road was closed for seven hours while specialist officers carried out investigations at the scene.

This is the second incident in the Brodie area in recent days – with a two-vehicle collision also taking place on Saturday, July 9.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to reports of a two-vehicle crash on the A96 near Forres at around 5.10pm on Saturday, July 9.
“There were no reported injuries and the road was fully cleared by around 7.05pm.”
The crash was near Brodie Countryfare and involved a Ford Fiesta and Kia Rio.
