Assault case adjourned against Moray businessman

A Moray businessman who assaulted a Buckie takeaway worker had the case against him adjourned yesterday.

Ian Taylor, who is widely known as Pedro, has already pleaded guilty to committing the assault at the S2 takeaway on West Church Street on March 23.

The 62-year-old, who runs Speyfruit in Elgin, has also admitted behaving in a behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.

In addition, he has admitted wilfully or recklessly causing damage to the premises.

The amount of damage has been estimated at £1851.

The businessman, who lives in Lhanbryde, was told at Elgin Sheriff Court yesterday that his case would call again on November 26.

However he will not have to appear in person until a later date which has still to be fixed.

Sheriff Olga Pasportnikov counselled him to seek legal advice in the meantime as the charges could potentially involve a prison sentence.
