A planning application is being lodged to build a café overlooking the seafront in Hopeman.

.

The application is being put forward by agents acting on behalf of the owners of the West Beach Caravan Park.

The documentation includes several images of the proposed café.

However it does not yet contain a written submission setting forth the argument why planning should be granted.

.

The application has received five objections from members of the public.

These largely concentrate on the issue of traffic congestion within the village during the visitor season.

One claims that Hopeman is "bursting at the seams".

There are also claims from the objectors that the proposed is café "over-sized" and a "modern building not in keeping with the local environment".

The application will be put before the elected members of the council's planning committee at some point in the future.
