NEWLY built homes across Moray may soon have to pay £113.29 for a complete set of recycling bins.

The council will discuss this coming Wednesday on whether to introduce the charge immediately.

If agreed, it will replace the current £80 fee which only applies to green bins.

A report written by council officers for the upcoming meeting recommends that the new charge be introduced with immediate effect.

It states: "The new charge to the public for the composite set of residual and recycling containers is recommended to be £113.29.

"This reflects the actual cost to Moray Council for the supply and delivery of the complete set of bins

and includes VAT.

"The charge is for new build properties.

"Bins that are in circulation and are damaged beyond repair will be replaced free of charge."
