Body found in Elgin identified as missing woman

A BODY found near the Elgin monument has been identified as Inga Van Der Heiden.

Ms Van Der Heiden had been reported missing last week having last been seen on November 11.

A statement from Police Scotland said: "At around 10am on Saturday, November 13, the body of a woman was found in the Blackfriars Road area of the town, near the Elgin monument.

"The deceased has been formally identified as Inga Van Der Heiden, reported missing from Elgin. Her family are aware.

"There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

"The media and members of the public are thanked for their support during our investigation. The family have asked for their privacy to be respected at this time."
