Forres police help Explosive Ordnance Disposal team deal with bomb incident near Mundole





A bomb has been detonated in Forres in a controlled explosion.

Local dog walkers reported the road from near Lime Kilns Cottage past Mundole Equestrian being cordoned off by police at around midday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.40am on Wednesday, February 12, we received a report of an unexploded ordnance found at an unclassified road near Mundole. A cordon was put in place.

“Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) were contacted and controlled explosions were carried out around midday.”

He added: “There was no wider threat to the public.”
