SCOTTISH Conservative leader Douglas Ross will stand in next month’s general election, according to reports.
It is understood that Mr Ross, now a former Moray MP, will replace David Duguid as the party’s candidate in the newly created Aberdeenshire North and Moray East seat.
Mr Ross had said that he would be standing down from his role as an MP to focus on his role as an MSP ahead of the 2026 Holyrood election campaign.
But he called an emergency press conference this morning and is set to deliver an “election announcement” at 9.30am (June 6) where it is expected he will announce his intentions to run.
More to follow.
