Moray motorcycle crash results in man being airlifted to hospital





A man has been airlifted to hospital after a motorcycle crash.

Police and ambulance crews rushed to the scene near Portgordon just after 3pm and the A990 close to the Moray town was closed for more than two hours.

Only one vehicle was involved in the accident.

The man’s condition is not currently known, and enquiries into the collision are being undertaken.

A police spokeswoman said: “At around 3.10pm on Friday, August 16, we were called to a report of a one-vehicle motorcycle crash on the A990 near Portgordon.

“A man has been taken by air ambulance to hospital.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”

The Scottish Ambulance Service have also been contacted for more information.

AA Roadwatch is reporting heavy traffic is still evident on the A990 both ways from A98 to Crown Street.
