Small drop in Buckie Harbour landings again
THERE was another small decrease in the number of boxes of fish, prawns and squid landed at Buckie Harbour this week.
In total 422 boxes were brought ashore. This is slightly down on last week's figure of 498.
Meanwhile, the number of bags of clams brought to the quayside rose from 63 to 94.
Again, fewer vessels brought their catches ashore, this week seeing six boats as opposed to nine over the course of the previous seven-day period.
The boats landing this week were: Emerald Dawn; Chloe Ella; Deeside; Ceol Na Mara; Lily Oak VI; Summerton.
A lone cargo boat called at Buckie Harbour last week in the shape of the Bahamian-registered MV Iberica Hav. She moored on November 1 when she imported 1506.64 tonnes of malt from Waterford.
Three days later she set sail for Gunness, exporting 2070.32 tonnes of pebbles and cobblestones.
The previous week also witnessed a single cargo boat calling at Buckie, the British-registered MV Victress.
